Bishop Wilton WIBishop Wilton Women's Institute consists of a very friendly bunch of ladies who enjoy a lively and varied programme of monthly meetings.
We also meet up socially for Wednesday Walks and Craft Club on Saturday afternoons (both open to non-members too). Don't be put off if you haven't been a member of the W.I. before, rest assured, that simply doesn't matter . Our monthly meetings are usually held on the 1st Monday of the month at Bishop Wilton Hall at 7.15pm. Your first visit is free, and you'll find that Jam and Jerusalem are definitely not what we are about! |
Bishop Wilton Garden ClubBishop Wilton garden club meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7.30pm. In the winter months, we have a varied agenda of speakers covering all aspects of gardening and sometimes wildlife. From May to August there are garden visits usually accompanied with tea and homemade cake! All are welcome (you don't have to live in the village) either as a one off or join as a member for £15 a year contact Sally Ironmonger [email protected]

These mornings are a popular community event, a chance to chat, meet and make new friends, sip coffee, enjoy cake and browse through books and puzzles.
Friendship GroupWe are a friendly bunch and meet in the club room every Tuesday 11 - 1pm
Come and join us for a coffee (or tea), cake and a chat For more information please contact: Michele 07594 366741 |
Craft GroupYou are welcome to join us, there is no charge, all we ask is that you make 2/3 items to sell on our stall at the Spring Fair and the Christmas Bazaar - the money raised going to the Village Hall and the Church respectively.
Some of our members are from outside the village, we have a hard core group who come every week, others come when they can. We are there to help each other, learn new skills, bounce ideas off eachother, and at the same time have a friendly chat, a cup of tea and a biscuit!!! We meet weekly on a Saturday afternoon 2-4pm If you are interested in joining or want to know more about us, please ring Stella on 01759 368478 or email [email protected] |
Creative WritingIf you love writing stories, or you want to try, there are now new Creative Writing Classes at Bishop Wilton Hall. We do fun writing exercises to kick-start your imagination; play around with story-telling and learn key writing tips. Best of all, in a friendly, supportive space where you are free to write anything - you'll FEEL the magic that happens when you write: once you start writing, the words will come! You'll gain confidence and take away ideas for characters, stories or, perhaps, even a novel! Classes are currently on Saturday mornings 10-12noon, (£12 per session) but please contact me if you'd like a mid-week class as I'm happy to provide one. Thank you!
